Edit the diary elements
In the Diary elements editor you set what your diary is made of: which built-in modules (Orders, Tasks, Events, Maintenance…) and which custom elements (your own data-point fields) it contains, and in what order. What you set here is what the shift workers see in the diary.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Permission: the diary-layout right — layout:manage.
- Where to find it: the Diary elements tab in the management area.

- Open the Diary elements tab. In the center are the active elements — what users see in the diary —, on the right the disabled and deleted elements.
- New element: type the element name (e.g. Inventory) and click Add diary element. Or pick a ready-made element from the Templates.
- Reorder the active elements by dragging — the order is what users see in the diary.
- Enable/disable: one click in the right-hand list re-enables an element among the active ones (or the reverse). A disabled element is not lost for good.
If it worked
Section titled “If it worked”The active elements appear in the diary in the order you set; disabled/deleted elements do not, but can be brought back anytime. In a multi-plant organisation each plant can have its own diary elements.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No “Diary elements” tab | You do not have the layout:manage permission. |
Ask your admin. |
| An element vanished from the diary | You disabled it (it moved to the right-hand list), it was not deleted for good. | Click it in the right list — it returns among the active ones. |
| The order in the diary is wrong | The active elements’ order is the editor order. | Drag to reorder in the active column. |
