Campaign start-up add-in overview
Campaign start-up is a Shift log add-in for plants that produce in campaigns: one product for a planned period, then they stop, and the next campaign has to be started up again. The add-in takes a campaign from the plan to closing it: approving the production plan, the start-up checklist, signing the gates, the phases and the progress in one place, connected to the shift diary.
How a campaign progresses
Section titled “How a campaign progresses”An approved campaign’s phases: Planned → Start-up → (Ramp-up) → Production → Shutdown → Closed; between two campaigns the plant is Idle. Ramp-up is off by default — where it is needed, it can be switched on in the Campaign settings.
- Gates. A phase change needs a signature first: “Ready to start”, “Start approved”, “First good product” (only with Ramp-up) and “Close”. Each gate is a separate permission and is on by default.
- Stepping. Some steps can be automatic (e.g. Start-up by default 24 hours before the planned start); every automatic step can be switched separately. Production → Shutdown is a manual step by default; after the planned end the page suggests it.
- Policy in one place. Gates, stepping and the phase ↔ operating-mode mapping are set on the Campaign settings page of the Control panel; a site can only make them stricter, and they cannot be overridden per campaign.
What it consists of
Section titled “What it consists of”- Campaign plants. The add-in is switched per plant: it only works on the plants you mark as campaign plants on the Campaign settings page. On a campaign plant the operating mode is written by the phase, not by the manual operating-mode element.
- Production plan. Adding a campaign with product, window and quantity; approval; changing an approved plan with an effect preview; a timeline.
- Start-up and shutdown checklist. A base checklist per plant, templates, an item library; the campaign’s own checklist is a copy. The shift completes the items (tick, check, measurement, N/A with a reason), and the gate looks at whether the checklist is complete.
- Who takes which exam. On a Training item of the checklist you choose the employees and the exam. An exam needs the Training module; without it a manual briefing with attendance confirmation can be chosen.
- Diary at start-up. In the start-up phases the diary shows only the selected elements. The phase indicator appears below the diary header and in the header of the shift PDF.
- Progress. The campaign plant’s tile and the Plant status block on the home page show the quantity counted from closed diaries and the expected end; a gate waiting for you appears in the My to-dos block.
Who can do what
Section titled “Who can do what”Defaults (changeable on the Permissions page):
- Production manager: plans, approves, configures, edits checklists, assigns who takes which exam; signs the “Start approved” and “Close” gates.
- Shift leader: signs the “Ready to start” and “First good product” gates; completes checklist items.
- Site manager, board operator and outside operator: see the campaign and complete checklist items.
- System administrator: in addition switches the campaign mode of plants (campaign:admin).
