Campaigns: production plan, approval and timeline

The Campaigns page is the operational view of the Campaign start-up add-in. This is where a campaign enters the production plan: which plant, which product, from when to when and how much. Only plants with campaign mode switched on (Campaign settings) appear here.

  • Add-in: Campaign start-up is switched on, the Shift log is live, and at least one plant is a campaign plant.
  • Permissions: campaign:view to open the page, campaign:plan to add a campaign and edit a draft, campaign:approve to approve and to change an approved plan (both default to the production manager). The Who can do what on the dashboard table at the bottom shows which of these you have.
  • Where to find it: in the header’s Shift log menu and on the home page, on the Campaigns tile.
  1. Product. If there is none yet, add a product on the Product catalogue card (name, code, unit). Active names are unique; archive a product you no longer make — it stays on past campaigns.
  2. New campaign. With New campaign, pick the plant and the product, enter the planned start and end (in the site’s time zone) and, if needed, the planned quantity. The campaign is created as a draft and immediately gets its unique ID (by default KMP-year-sequence).
  3. Overlap. On one plant, the planned windows of two campaigns can’t overlap. If saving finds an overlap, it names the other campaign — pick another time. Two adjacent campaigns (one ends when the other starts) don’t overlap.
  4. Submit and approve. In the campaign drawer (click the campaign in the list or on the timeline), after Submit for approval the approver finalises the plan with Approve — this is revision 1. A submitted plan can’t be edited; to fix it, use Return to draft (with a reason).
  5. Changing an approved plan. On the Change plan form, Preview effects first shows what the change brings: how far the start or end moves, when Start-up opens, and whether it overlaps another campaign. Saved with a reason, the plan gets a new revision, and an information band at the top of the drawer shows what changed.
  6. Withdraw. Take a campaign that is no longer due out of the plan with Withdraw (with a reason). A withdrawn campaign isn’t deleted: its ID stays taken, and the list shows it with Show withdrawn.

The campaign appears in the list and on the timeline (draft: dashed, awaiting approval: dotted, approved: solid border), and the plant’s tile shows Next campaign with the ID.

What you see Why What to do
“The planned window overlaps on the same plant with…” The plant already has a campaign in this period. Pick another time, or withdraw the other campaign.
“This plan can’t be edited now” The plan awaits approval or is withdrawn. For a submitted plan: Return to draft, then edit.
“The plan or the settings changed meanwhile” Someone else changed something since the preview. Review the updated effects and save again.
“Campaign mode isn’t switched on for this plant” The plant isn’t a campaign plant. The administrator switches it on on the Campaign settings page.
No New campaign button You don’t have campaign:plan, or there is no product yet. Ask the administrator for the right, or add a product.
