Campaign settings: gates, stepping and campaign plants

The Campaign settings page belongs to the Campaign start-up add-in. It decides how a campaign moves through its phases: Planned → Start-up → (Ramp-up) → Production → Shutdown → Closed, and between two campaigns the plant is Idle. The settings are a policy: they live in one place and can’t be overridden per campaign.

  • Add-in: Campaign start-up is enabled and the Shift log is on. The add-in is being introduced: a tenant cannot order it itself yet; the provider enables it for pilot tenants. With the add-in off, the page isn’t in the menu.
  • Permissions: gates, stepping and the mapping need campaign:configure (by default the production manager); switching a plant’s campaign mode needs campaign:admin (by default only the System administrator).
  • Where to find it: in the shift-log part of the Control panel, Campaign settings in the left bar.
  1. Scope. At the top, choose what you set: the company default (applies to every site — only someone with access to every site can set it) or one site. A site can only tighten: a value looser than the company default can’t be selected there.
  2. Gates. Switch each gate on or off: “Ready to start”, “Start approved”, “First good product” (only with Ramp-up), “Close”. Next to each gate you see which right is needed to sign it — you grant it on the Roles and permissions tab. Here you also decide what happens when the list isn’t complete (Block or Warn with a justification), and whether the two start gates must be signed by different people.
  3. Automatic stepping. Each automatic step can be switched separately — for example “Production automatically when the start-up list is complete”. If both the gate and the automatic condition are on, the campaign steps when both are met. Closed → Idle is always automatic.
  4. Check the diagram. “How a campaign runs with these settings” shows your unsaved settings: a skipped phase is grey, a switched-off gate is struck through. Clicking a gate jumps to its row.
  5. Save. If the change relaxes (switching a gate off, “Block” → “Warn”, switching an automatic condition off, removing a site tightening), the page asks for a reason. The reason is recorded in the settings log with the change.
  6. Phase ↔ operating mode. Choose which operating mode each phase corresponds to (e.g. Production → “Normal operation”, Idle → “Planned stop”), and which are the interruption reasons. A suggested operating mode that’s still missing (“new — saving adds it”) is added to the operating-mode list on save. The Production mode can’t be the same as anything else.
  7. Campaign plants. Per site, switch on the plants where you produce in campaigns (also with All on / All off). Per plant you can select the actual-quantity field (a number field of the log), Ramp-up (tighten only) and whether interruption is needed. A plant’s campaign mode can only be switched off when it has no live (not withdrawn, not closed) campaign.
  8. Campaign ID. On the Campaign ID card you set the pattern of the ID given to every new campaign (by default KMP-{YYYY}-{SEQ}; the PTW-number language: year, site key, plant key, sequence). The pattern only affects new campaigns; an issued ID never changes.

After saving you see “Saved.”, the diagram shows the saved settings, and the plant row says Campaign plant.

What you see Why What to do
“A site or plant can only tighten” You tried to save a value looser than the company default. Relaxing is only possible on the company default, with a reason.
“This change relaxes the gates” The save would relax and there’s no reason. Briefly write why (at least 5 characters).
“Only someone with access to every site…” You don’t have access to every site. You can tighten your own site; ask the System administrator for the company default.
“The selected field is archived…” The actual-quantity field was archived meanwhile. Pick another number field — until then progress shows “no data”, not 0.
“The plant has a live campaign…” You tried to switch off campaign mode while a campaign is live. Withdraw the campaign (or close it later) on the Campaigns page first.
You don’t see the page in the menu The add-in is off, or you lack the right. The add-in is being introduced: to enable it, contact OPEREX support; ask the System administrator for the right.
