Campaigns in Analytics: plan vs. actual, burn-up, batch list

Analytics shows the campaigns of the Campaign add-in in two places: the Campaigns page (Analytics → Campaigns) and the “Campaigns” view template (dashboard editor → From template). Both need the Analytics module, the Campaign add-in and the campaign view permission. If the add-in is off, the page says so, and the campaign metrics do not appear in the metric picker either.

  • Plan: the approved campaign’s planned quantity, spread evenly over the planned window. “Plan to date” is the part up to today.
  • Actual: the sum of the campaign plant’s chosen quantity field from closed logs, with the same rule as the progress figure on the campaign page.
  • Phase times: from the campaign’s phase history (start-up, ramp-up, production, shutdown). Interruption is part of production, so do not add it on top.
  • Missing data shows as “no data”, not zero.
  1. Choose the site.
  2. The deviation table shows, per campaign, the plan, the plan to date, the actual and the deviation. Only a negative deviation is coloured. You can download the table as CSV with the same columns.
  3. Plan adherence shows actual against the full plan per product, in time order.
  4. Click a campaign ID to see the burn-up (cumulative plan and actual; the actual line stops at the last recorded day) and the batch list.
  5. Open in analytics opens the source list filtered to the campaign’s plant and time window.

The batch list merges the rows with a batch ID from the logs in the campaign window with the samples of data series (for example the lab). The merge does not depend on the field name but on the “Batch ID” meaning: set it under “What does this field identify?” for both the log element field and the data series column. Out-of-range values are marked against the field’s or column’s own min/max limit. The page shows how many rows had no batch ID.

The tiles of the “Campaigns” template can be narrowed to a campaign or a product (the campaign tiles’ filter). On other tiles (for example a log data point) the campaign filter has no effect, and the tile says so: there a campaign means a plant and a time window, which you narrow with the campaign’s “Open in analytics” link.
